- Title
Effect of heat-and-mass transfer in rocks on the mechanism of the collapse of spoil banks on slopes.
- Authors
Eremin, G.
- Abstract
Experimental and computational data are presented on the variation in thermophysical and filtration properties of rock material in a spoil bank as a function of its lump size. The influence exerted by heat-and-mass transfer on the development of weakened zones with subsequent saturation of the rock ahead of the sort prism (“basin”), and the ejection of liquefied masses onto the slope in the last stage are indicated.
