- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigates the potential for an insertion of new layers in the transcriptional networks of yeasts. It reveals that the insertion of new layer of control into the transcriptional network is demonstrated by the regulation of the transcriptional activator. It suggests on a model in which the ancestors of the species, S. cerevisiae, C. albicans and K. lactis, utilizes direct regulation of haploid-specific genes (HSGs) by two homeodomain proteins.
