- Title
Die biblischen Lesungen an Marienhochfesten und Marienfesten.
- Authors
LUMMA, LIBORIUS OLAF
- Abstract
The article discusses the biblical readings on Marian feasts and festivals. It is pointed out that the Bible contains only a few texts that explicitly refer to Mary. Nevertheless, there are many Marian feasts in the liturgical year for which specific scripture texts are selected. The article provides an overview of the biblical readings on certain Marian feasts and highlights the differences before and after the liturgical reform of 1969/70. Various readings from the Old and New Testament are presented, which can be interpreted either as Old Testament types for Mary or as Christological impulses. The article emphasizes the efforts for continuity and the reemphasis in the celebration of Marian feasts.
