The article informs about Battle of the Bismarck Sea, which took place in the South-West Pacific Area (SWPA) during World War II when aircraft of the United States Army's 5th Air Force and the Royal Australian Air Force attacked a Japanese convoy carrying troops from the Japanese fortress at Rabaul in New Britain to Lae in New Guinea. Topics include the Japanese decided to reinforce its naval, land and air forces; and the Japanese assembled a convoy comprising eight troop transports.
