- Abstract
Energy supply security means that the recipient countries in terms of energy resources supply reliable, uninterrupted and secure energy through foreign trade from the seller countries in terms of energy resources. In this study, with various indicators used in the literature to measure energy supply security, it is aimed to measure the natural gas supply security in the EU member states and Turkey for 2015. Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain are the most successful countries about country diversification in natural gas imports. Compared with EU member states, the risk of natural gas supply security of Turkey is very low. Belgium is the most successful country in terms of providing natural gas imports from stable countries in a political perspective. Compared with EU member states, Turkey is among the countries with a high risk of natural gas supply security. The Netherlands is the most succesful country in terms of dependence of imported natural gas compared to domestic production. Compared with EU member states, the risk of natural gas supply security of Turkey is very high.
