- Abstract
In December 2020, the Act that guarantees access to the right to legal, safe and free abortion was passed and, therefore, we were entrusted with the task of investigating the role and participation of young people from different parts of our country within the so-called Green Tide. This is a movement with strong incidence in Latin America and the world, which is characterized by the massive incorporation of young people to the discussions, demonstrations, panuelazos and vigils that were developed during the debates in Congress in 2018 and 2019. We set out to investigate through discourses, practices and political actions, the participation of young people -women, trans, transvestites, lesbians, bisexuals and non-binary-, in the Green Tide, in different provinces, including Mendoza, Tucuman, Chaco, Salta and Santiago del Estero. As part of the findings, we will present the narratives and practices of various ecclesiastical-political-judicial sectors, which throughout the construction of the Green Tide have interposed various strategies of resistance and opposition. Therefore, we believe that part of overcoming the current challenges regarding the implementation of the IVE Ac refers to rethinking the role of young people as actors, promoters and monitors of the implementation of the law. However, including young people in these challenges implies knowing their expectations, experiences, needs and demands, which often come into tension with the prevailing adult-centric logic in the debates about public health policies that revolve around the sexual and reproductive health of feminized corporalities.
