- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examined the use of a durometer to meaure outcome in juvenile patients with localized scleroderma (LS). Topics discussed include the measurement of skin hardness and skin thickness, the validity and reliability of the durometer in discriminating between unaffected and affected skin, and the promising use of durometry as an outcome measure for the thickness of skin.
