- Abstract
This paper is based on an archival research that allowed to better understand the personalities of the patrons of the Palazzo Buonaccorsi decoration, especially of Raimondo Buonaccorsi, and their relationship with the local, national and even supranational cultural and artistic environment. Among the major news are relations with the Roman family of Muti Bussi, intermediary in the supply of silverware, tapestry and updated models from Rome and with the Albicini family of Forlì, following the marriage between Lucrezia, Raimondo's eldest daughter, and the Marquis Andrea, in February 1717. Presumably it was thanks to the Albicini that Buonaccorsi hired Francesco Mancini, who in 1722 was in direct correspondence with Raimondo, and who welcomed as a pupil the son of a coachman of the Buonaccorsi family, Alessandro Ortolani. Another unpublished presence in the Buonaccorsi collection is that of Corrado Giaquinto, who in June 1735 painted two portraits for Raimondo and his son Simone, then Vicelegato of Ferrara. Finally, the paper analyzes a case of artistic exchanges between center and periphery, concerning the drawings for some chapels in the churches of Macerata entrusted to the workshop of the Giosafatti from Cingoli, in some cases with the involvement of Raimondo Buonaccorsi.
