- Title
The Rise of Business Ethics.
- Authors
Hulpke, John
- Abstract
On p. 142, Mees says that "business ethics has been transformed by the establishment of the UN Global Compact." Not all will come to that same conclusion; however, any academic field - whether called business and society, or CSR, or business ethics - will benefit from having a sense of history. Chapters 4 and 5 detail what Mees sees as the rise and fall of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the continuing rise of business ethics. Professor Bernard [9]: ix) says: "business history and business ethics are often neglected in business schools...An academic field [needs a] sense of its own history.".
