- Abstract
The article discusses the work of the Southern Oregon University Laboratory of Anthropology (SOULA) in Ashland, Oregon, which focuses on archaeology, regional history, and oral history. Topics include the work of SOULA in excavating Native American sites in Oregon, the excavation of the former U.S. Army facility Fort Lane, and the cooperation of SOULA with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD). The excavation of the ship Captain Lincoln on the North Spit of Coos Bay in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management is noted.
