- Abstract
The article "Painting with DNA" describes the use of fluorescence dyes to make incomplete DNA strands visible. The stability of the DNA helix determines the strength of the fluorescence. By using dyes in the visible light spectrum, specific DNA sequences can be assigned specific colors. This process has applications in therapy development, genome sequencing, and nanostructuring. The use of microarray photolithography allows for the rapid production of large quantities of DNA sequences to create an intensity scale. Potential applications include data storage and increasing the number of experiments conducted simultaneously. The author is currently leading four research projects funded by the Austrian Science Fund FWF.
