The article discusses the proposed solution to the Vioxx litigation's harmful incentives. It is said that the tort system provides incentive for manufacturers to promote a safe product manufacturing. It is mentioned that the tort system negatively influence manufacturer transparency, pharmaceutical development and public safety. The article also offers information on the proposed statute that provides valuable litigation relief to drug companies through a release of study data on the manufacturers and their products.
