- Abstract
Following September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in U.S., claims began popping up in the media about Al-Qaeda 's links in the Balkans. It is still possible to come across some articles in the media which point to the countries and regions dominated by Albanians and Bosniaks as the cells of terrorism perpetrated in the name of Islam. Some Balkan countries media even benefited fronz killing of Osama bin Laden in May 2011, such that they wrote the news where they were showing Bosniaks and Bosnia and Herzegovina connected with Al-Qaeda and international terrorism. The allegations about use of the Balkans by terrorist as one transit zone, possible base and a place for recruiting new followers is not being supported with evidence. In this article claims that the Balkan countries are a terrorist threat to Europe and the world are found to be more fictional.
