- Abstract
The authors reflect on the role of physicians in the prevention of gun violence and also offer ideas for the implementation of public health approach in preventing violence. According to the authors, the U.S. government should develop policies regarding the engagement of physicians for providing better medical care to victims. They discuss the role of physicians which include treatment of people in crises, help the government in drafting policies and can offer mental health treatment.
