- Abstract
Distribution Center (DC) location problem has been an important strategic decision problem for logistics managers for many years. Especially, the use of collection and distribution network structure has a vital role in today's modern logistics, energy and telecommunication systems. In a collection and distribution network structure, a facility, named DC, is located centrally serves mainly as a collection and distribution point, among other auxiliary functions. In collection and distribution network structures, flows among all origin-destination pairs are not conducted by direct connection lines, but instead by means of * collecting DCs and are sent to the destinations again via DCs for the purpose of taking advantages of the economies of scale. In this way, provide less transportation rates to more points is possible with lower costs. In this study, a suitable DC location has been investigated for the reduction of logistics costs due to the farness to supply sources of TRA provinces and in order to provide the maximum benefit in terms of regional development. In this context, five criteria are identified for DC location problem as a result of interviews with experts. In this study, it is utilized Stochastic Multicriteria Acceptability Analysis (SMAA-TRI) because of the fact that the experts had difficulties to express their exact preferences during the evaluations and fail to get the criteria weights and exact criteria values of alternative provinces.
