- Abstract
The article presents an study on the sound production by Southern right whales in the coast of Uruguay. It mentions several types of calls recorded during the study such as the up call, high call and pulsive call, which varies in tone, frequency and amplitude. The study used custom-built hydrophone to record sounds produced by the right whales when there are no other cetaceans present. Moreover, the data gathered in the study are essential for the analysis of the global differences of the species between vocalisations.
