- Title
Psychosocial Services for Patients With Cancer.
- Abstract
The article presents the position of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) on a variety of psychosocial services that can effectively address problems caused or intensified by cancer as well as those that result from a lack of information or skills needed to manage a cancer diagnosis, its treatment and survivorship. ONS argues that psychosocial assessment is a standard component of cancer care. It calls on oncology nurses to incorporate existing evidence-based psychosocial resources into practice.
