Chicago SNCC and the Black Freedom Struggle.
- Abstract
An interview with civil rights worker Fannie Rushing is presented. She discusses her work as an activist associated with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and the Chicago Area Friends of SNCC. When asked if SNCC's methods of participatory democracy and local organizing operated differently in the northern and southern U.S., she states that they did not and that northern and southern blacks faced many of the same issues. The Chicago SNCC archive is also discussed.
