- Abstract
The article analyzes director Baz Luhrmann's 2013 film adaptation of the novel "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Particular focus is given to the relationship between the novel and the film, and to the author's experience of using the film to teach high school students about the novel. Details on the film's treatment of wealth and of the romance between the characters Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan are presented.
