- Abstract
The article discusses how Black communities and students often face discrimination and are portrayed as monsters in various public spheres. It highlights the negative impact of legislative bills targeting critical race theory and erasing Black experiences from education. It suggests using two critical lenses, "The Monster, the Myth, and the Model" and "The Dark Fantastic Cycle," to combat anti-Blackness in the English classroom by analyzing how Blackness is portrayed in literature and media.
