- Abstract
To be used as pieces, at the blast furnaces, the iron ore powder is subjected to the sintering process. The heat required for this process comes from burning carbon materials. Because of this, the ore sintering process is an important CO2 generator. We studied two technological ways of influencing the CO2 emissions: - using substitutes (scale and ferromanganese slag) for expenses, poor and non-ecological materials; we establish prediction models for the CO2 emissions; we show, based on experimental research, that the use of substitutes is advantageous in terms of CO2 emissions: - influencing the CO2 emission by optimizing the composition of mixtures subjected to the sintering process.
