- Title
"Sufrimos vergüenza": mujeres k'iche' frente a la justicia comunitaria en Guatemala.
- Authors
Cumes, Aura
- Abstract
This paper analyzes some particular and controversial cases involving the application of Community Law to k'iche' women in Guatemala, and seeks to place these specific cases within the debate about the political vindication of Mayan law that currently takes place in a postwar and violent environment. These experiences challenge us to remain beyond the political controversy between defending an idealized Mayan law and the uncritical rejection of a deeper analysis of reality.
