- Abstract
The article presents a study on the compression fossils of wing or fruiting calyx similar to the modern Shorea Roxb. or Dipterocarpaceae, which were found from the Lower Siwalik sediments in Arunachal Pradesh, India. The study compares two preserved fruiting calyx compressions with their modern analogs using herbarium sheets from the Central National Herbarium (CNH) in Howra, India. Furthermore, the result founds that the fossil shows closest affinity with Shorea robuta and Shorea assamica.
