An essay is presented on the similarities among the many customs, rituals, and liturgies of the three Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). Particular focus is given to the meaning and purpose of phylacteries and fringes for Jews and praying the rosary for Catholics. The role of the esoteric in religious life and thought is also discussed.
