A biography of Alan Lomax, a citizen activist, musicologist, and author is presented. Lomax was born in Austin, Texas on January 31, 1915 to folksong collector John Avery Lomax. He is cited as invaluable in his role in collecting, documenting and promoting the careers of talents such as Lead Belly, Muddy Waters and Burl Ives.
