- Abstract
The article discusses the Irish musical heritage of Sheenboro town, located in Pontiac County in the township of Sheen, Quebec. The town is described as a classic example of an Ottawa Valley Irish stronghold with Irish Catholic families from 1926 to 1946. Music is reportedly an integral part of the lifestyle in Sheenboro, giving its people a chance to work together, socialize and engage in singing and dancing. Dances in Sheenboro included square dance and the Waltz such as "The Sheenboro Hop" performed with fiddle, piano and guitar.
