A biography of DeWitt Clinton (D.C.) Booth, a fishery superintendent with the U.S. Fish Commission who ran a fish hatchery in Spearfish, South Dakota, is presented. It examines several improvements Booth made to the Spearfish hatchery, commenting on the building of a storm channel and retaining walls to protect from floods. His work developing fisheries at Yellowstone National Park is also considered.
