- Abstract
The article discusses the debate over the founding of Canada and the results of surveys conducted in March 2013 and January 2016 asking Canadians about their views and knowledge of Canada's founders and Confederation. The author notes the uncertainty over whether the Confederation is an agreement between French and British cultures or between four provinces and cites the book "Getting it Wrong: How Canadians Forgot their Past and Imperiled Confederation" by Paul Romney. Topics include the Fathers of Confederation, the cultural compact theory, and multiculturalism.
