Abstract
The article offers world news briefs related to the diseases. The outbreak in the hospital in England was caused by the toxin-producing strain of Clostridium difficile, wherein 12 patients have died and more than 300 have been infected since 2003. Meta-analysis of 55 published peer-reviewed studies has inferred that vitamin C is considered ineffective in the prevention and treatment of the common cold. National Academy of Sciences President Bruce Alberts decided to publish the toxin study.
