- Abstract
The article discusses an Engineering is Elementary unit designed to teach elementary school students about material properties and the applications of those properties in the context of an engineering design challenge. It comments on students' task of determining if limestone or wax makes a better building material, as well as notes the alignment of the unit with the U.S. National Research Council's (NRC) "Framework for K-12 Science Education."
