- Title
Portion Distortion.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the study which concerns about the phenomenon known as portion distortion. According to the research, the portion sizes of virtually all foods and beverage served at restaurants and packaged for single-serve have dramatically increased over the last two decades, specifically during 1980's and 1990's. For instance, it was found that the typical portions of orange juice were more than 40 percent larger than they were 20 years ago. Participants in the study likewise served themselves nearly 20 percent more cornflakes and poured almost 30 percent more milk on their cereal than participants did 20 years ago. As a result of the so-called portion distortion, the incidence of obesity has also increased over the past two decades.
