- Abstract
The article presents reprints of letters of personal correspondence between Terrell Maverick, the widow of U.S. Congressman Maury Maverick and former mayor of San Antonio, Texas and widower Walter Prescott Webb, a professor of history at the University of Texas at Austin that were written in 1961. The letters detail Webb's efforts to arrange his affairs so that he can ask Maverick to marry. They include a marriage proposal, acceptance, and future wedding plans.
