- Abstract
This article examines a conventional alternative to the traditional variable air volume systems being implemented at Howard Regional Health System in Kokomo, Indiana. The design team found a way to cut installed cost with a unique reverse heating cooling airside design while avoiding any penalties in operational cost. This was accomplished using dedicated heat recovery chillers. In addition, the design helped meet the client's need for an expandable system within the physical parameters of the existing mechanical floor space.
