- Title
STATE AND REGIONAL PAYMENTS MECHANISMS.
- Authors
Ingram, James C.
- Abstract
The article examines the payments mechanism for the state of North Carolina to study how policy alternatives are limited by the position in which the state finds itself. The author has presented assumptions to analyze the balance of payments in North Carolina. Using the assumptions on the balance payments, the author has analyzed the mechanism of adjustment to a disturbance in the balance of payments. The analysis implies that integration of capital markets in several partner countries and removal of restrictions on the movement of claims will enable equilibrating capital movements to perform their vital role which involves a vast increase in liquidity.
