- Abstract
The article argues that concept of qi, or the source of origin of human life and things, in the book "Zhuangzi" is a field-substance with horizontal and vertical dimensions and illustrates the role of humans in giving shape to qi. Topics discussed are problem with the interpretation of the yinyang qi as metaphysical substances, cosmological qi that accounts for the emergence of things, the dual-axis structure of qi and its relation to the heart-mind and body.
