- Abstract
The article discusses how global shipping is responsible for about 2.5 percent of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and these are projected to rise by between 50 and 250 percent by 2050. Topics discussed include contribution of fossil fuel-entangled global economy in climate change; plans of OECD countries to prevent rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations; and provisions in the Paris Agreement of December 2015 to prevent climate change.
