- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 69-year-old female of American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status II who was admitted for a left total knee replacement. The patient presented complaints of limping gait due to disturbance in walking. she was earlier treated for syphilis disease. Spinal anesthesia was performed on patient which resulted in paroxysmal pain. It further revealed that sedative such as thiopental is effective for the treatment of paroxysmal pain.
