- Abstract
In order to measure the water use efficiency of 31 provinces in China from 2015 to 2020, the data envelopment method and Moran index model were used to analyze the dynamic changes and spatial and temporal distribution patterns. The results show that the WUE in China is relatively stable, and the decrease in 2020 is larger. There are significant regional differences in WUE, and the WUE in the eastern and northeastern regions is higher than that in the central and western regions. The overall total factor productivity is declined slightly and the total factor productivity change in 25 regions is less than 1. From 2015 to 2018 and 2020, the WUE in various regions show positive spatial autocorrelation, and there is a weakening trend in spatial agglomeration. The main type of spatial agglomeration is low-low agglomeration, and local spatial autocorrelation is weak. Therefore, there is still significant room for improvement in WUE in China. The central and western regions need to vigorously develop their economy, refine their water use methods and strengthen regional cooperation in neighboring regions to narrow regional differences.
