- Abstract
This essay examines the national cultural history of Great Britain between the time period of 1970-1997 through the work of American writers Robert Coover and Kathy Acker. The author argues that this particular period shifted the framework by which the concept of national culture operated from the twentieth century to the new millennium, bringing about a process of transformation that pertained to Great Britain and the U.S. The trajectory of U.S. history during this timeframe is also discussed.
