- Abstract
The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of forage maize Consortium, on the morphological characteristics and production of maize in different configurations of Consortium (corn-fodder) and sowing times. The experiment was conducted in the experimental area of the Federal University of Ceará, campus Pici. The delineation used was randomized blocks, in factorial scheme (3 x 2) composed of consortium of three forage corn (Urochloa Brizantha, Panicum maximum CV. Mombasa and Sunn hemp spectabilis a.) sown in two seasons, season 1: sowing of forage on the leading corn, mixed with the fertilizer of the same day of the sowing of corn, and time 2: sowing of forage on the leading corn V4 Stadium of corn. The data were submitted to the evaluation of data normality and when normal, the analysis of variance, and averages compared by tukey test at 5% of significance. The results show that independent of the forage maize and setting time of sowing, not interference in the morphological and productive of corn in a cultivation cycle. Despite no significant difference factors (fodder and sowing times), the Sunn hemp and 2 season forage seeding, showed higher average yields, which makes necessary further work with ratings on more than one cycle to consolidate responses to the factors under study.
