- Abstract
The article presents a study on the effectiveness of dog-appeasing pheromone (DAP) in improving separation-related signs in hospitalized dogs where DAP are assessed in 10 typical separation-related behavior signs. Study shows that overall amelioration has no signs of vigilance and disorder in DAP-treated dogs with P=0.038 in elimination, P=0.005 in excess licking, and P=0.017 in pacing. It also suggests that DAP could lessen separation anxiety and could facilitate hospitalized dogs' recovery.
