- Abstract
This paper aims to present the results of a study of resizing the level of safety stock of ten products imported from a company of cleaning equipment. This study sought to increase the level of service delivery to the end customer. To do so, we performed literature searches in logistics, documentary reports on the company, implementation of case study. Using ABC classification of the ten major items imported for the company and greater demand variability were identified. Then it was possible identified the tendency of behavior and the demand for products made up resizing the values of safety stocks. Finally, we analyze the impact of the scenario with the resizing. The survey results showed a possible reduction of buffer stocks in the 20% of products studied, reduction in storage costs and maintenance requirements.
