The article discusses the poetical works of Hartley Coleridge and John Keats, as well as the science of breathing. It relates the essay "Observations on Respirations, and the Use of the Blood," by Joseph Priestley, which considered issues related to breathing life for human and animal existence. It states that poetry has a close relationship with breath. Moreover, it explores the works of Coleridge and Keats, as well as the interfusions between breath and poetry.
