- Title
Is anybody in there? Towards a model of affect and trust in human–AI information interactions.
- Authors
Pawlick-Potts, Danica
- Abstract
The article discusses the role of trust in the information-seeking and retrieval process and how it affects users' interactions with Artificial Intelligence-powered systems. It argues that trust is a neutral phenomenon that can be both helpful and harmful, and suggests that further research is necessary to understand the contexts and factors that lead to misplaced trust and to develop interventions to encourage users to stay critically engaged with information systems.
