- Abstract
An essay is presented which explores the response of author Anthony Burgess to George Orwell's dystopian novel "Nineteen Eighty-Four" through his novel "1985." Topics discussed include the meeting between Orwell and Burgess which the latter described in his autobiography "Little Wilson and Big God," the way Burgess defined the dystopian fiction writing technique, and the verdict offered by Burgess on the impossibility of the dystopia presented by Orwell.
