- Abstract
This article discusses the history of furniture, specifically the ancient Egypt, which represents one of the first documented civilizations, in political, cultural and artistic terms. The Images, the writing, buildings and artifacts, attest, despite the phases of anarchy, the permanence of cultural patterns and social training for thousands of years. It is necessary to expose concisely the context, historical, socio-political and artistic when it investigates styles and periods relating to the production and that today is called design. The Egyptian furniture is testament to the luxury of the pharaonic court and the quality and the technical and artistic advancement of society, which, in the idealization of safety and comfort, conceives and consumes. The historic and qualitative research, supported in the bibliography and note, provides, through the creative mind, the power to develop spaces and products, that adapt to the recent standards and requirements and indicates the importance of furniture, object of the society, which in its different historical and artistic periods, seeks comfort and beauty for your pleasure.
