The article focuses on the U.S. banking regulatory agencies including the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and their proposals calling for stricter regulation of financial institutions. Information is provided on the maintenance of high capital reserves.
