- Abstract
This article discusses the management of multiple pancreatic ducts in a Whipple procedure, specifically focusing on a case of incomplete pancreatic divisum. The patient in the case study presented with obstructive jaundice and abdominal pain, and imaging revealed a mass in the head of the pancreas. During the procedure, two ducts were visualized at the transection mark, and it was determined that they were communicating. The smaller duct was ligated to preserve a larger channel for flow. The article highlights the challenges and considerations in managing multiple pancreatic ducts and suggests that surgical technique selection depends on the extent of resection and anatomical locations of the ducts.
