- Abstract
The article presents the author's insight regarding the plight of Palestinian women after their Diaspora in Middle East through Embroidery. She notes that the Palestinian embroidery is not only a material practice for Palestinian women for it enables them to connect to their history before Diaspora and the complex problems since the Diaspora. The Palestinian women use different motifs including trees, flower pots and cypress tress which consist of meaning and sign inspired from the Tiles of Bethlehem, Mountains of Jerusalem, and the Key of Hebron. She cites the inspirations of the patterns including mosaics and tiles, ceramics and architectural motifs. She notes that the works of the Palestinian embroidery often tell stories which show how positive, creative and powerful they are.
