Examines the cultural logic of mortuary cannibalism practiced by the Wari Indians (Pakaa Nova) in the western Brazilian rain forest. Wari practices in materialist, psychogenic and symbolic interpretations; Indigenous understandings of the relation of cannibalism to experiences of mourning.
